The Younger Tmen project is a new venture to help show Knox Boyz is welcoming to Tmen under 30yo and well as further along in life. As more Behavioral Health and Medical professionals acknowledge that individual awareness of Gender Identity incongruence begins even before puberty, more and more FTMs are speaking out earlier in life. The topic of age came up during a Knox Boyz meeting, as well as Zack making the point that younger Tmen may feel unwelcome at meetings/events that seem dominated by oldsters. While pointing out that some of the oldsters may be less progressed in transition than a 18 year old, BEAR agreed that efforts should be made to welcome all Tmen in our area. Zack was then designated Younger Tmen Coordinator for Knox Boyz, since he is under 25 and doing quite well on his own journey.

This web space is still being built as time allows. We hope that others will contribute to it's growth. More importantly we hope you will join the Knox Boyz yahoogroup if you are in the FTM spectrum and live in the region or plan to soon, OR are a parent/legal guardian of a FTM. Since our chat group is in Health section of Yahoo we are not required to have only members 18 years old and above, however, be aware that occasionally we discuss topics of dating (all orientations), anatomy (natal and surgical), and resources for better intimate relations with our partners. A word about the physical meetings: because most of us are adults who might be discussing topics considered "mature content" by other people and local officials, the presence of minors in private meetings has to be addressed with a little more care. So we must have written permission from a parent/legal guardian for anyone 17yo or younger to be in our meetings. An in-person meeting including a representative of Knox Boyz (Zack and/or BEAR) and the young FTM with parent will occur at a public location where a permission slip will be signed. Any other special situations will be addressed on a case-by-case basis. Email or call for arrangements, we really do want your participation to be as trouble free as possible.

Currently meetings are for FTMs only, but we have the SOFFA support meeting for parents, family members, and partners. Other outings, either with SOFFAs or just the men, (camping, clubs, sports, food, etc.) happen randomly as there is interest.
